Abstract

Tamarind (Tamarindus indica) is a plant that contains a lot of acid. Tamarind can be used as a substitute for pasta on a battery that is said to be an electrolyte solution. The solution is an acid compound such as citric acid compound, tartrate acid, malic acid is known to be an electrolyte solution. Electrolyte solutions can be used in voltaic cell systems which use copper plates as cathodes and zinc plates as anodes to drain negative ions. The tools and materials used in this study are mature tamarind, measuring cups, copper plates and zinc plates, multimeters, and connecting cables. The method used is a method for making galvani cells, namely connecting a negative cable on a zinc plate and a positive cable on a copper plate, which is inserted into an acidic Java electrolyte solution. The data measured is the magnitude of the electric voltage and the effect of the acidic mass of Java on the concentration of electrolyte solution. The data obtained shows that tamarind can be used as an electrolyte solution because it produces electricity and the effect of the concentration of the solution on the acidic Java electrolyte solution shows a decrease in the voltage caused by being too thick.
