Abstract

This study aims to develop inquiry-based experiment module fundamental for physics
laboratory II course on topics of temperature and heat to train students’ science process skills.
This research is a developmental research with ADDIE model. The module has been tested on
students who took fundamental physics lab II in 2018/2019 academic year. We used one shot
case study. In the testing, the findings show than descriptively there is small improvement of
science process skills from module 1 (mean = 41), module 2 (mean = 51), and module 3 (mean
= 56). However, after further analysis with Kruskal Wallis non parametric test, the significance
is 0.022, which improvement can be interpreted as significant. In this study, that module is need
revision. Especially, in problem finding, hypothesis construction and further investigation part,
improvement is strongly needed because students got lowest score in these part. In addition,
students also still require guidance to find problems, construct hypothesis, and further
investigation in an experiments.
