Abstract

The spread of the Covid-19 outbreak has had a significant impact, affecting the activities of various sectors of life. The increase in the number of victims due to the spread of the Covid-19 outbreak has experienced a fluctuating increase. One of the sectors of life that has been affected by the spread of covid-19 is education. Education is a medium as well as a forum for improving the quality of human resources through educational programs in accordance with laws and regulations set by the government. The implementation of education in the midst of a pandemic is a significant challenge for educators to protect the rights of students in developing their full potential so that they can become capital to start a career in the future. Career insights for students can be obtained through various sources, one of which is through the role of parents at home. This study aims to describe the urgency of the role of parents in providing career insights for children during the pandemic. This research method uses descriptive qualitative. The data collection technique used a career needs questionnaire during a pandemic and observation. The data analysis technique used qualitative. The results showed that children have varied career trends so that parents have a strategic function and role in forming career insights for children, because 69.4% of children have a career plan, but 36.7% still feel doubt because they do not have sufficient career insight and 53.1% of respondents chose to discuss career issues with their parents during the pandemic.
