TRANSITIVITY ANALYSIS OF FATHIA IZZATI’S VLOG ENTITLED “20 GOALS FOR 2020” (SYSTEMIC FUNCTIONAL LINGUSTICS)

Abstract

The topic of the study is Transitivity Analysis of Fathia Izzati’s Vlog Entitled “20 Goals for 2020” (Systemic Functional Linguistics Approach). The objectives of this study were to find out the types of processes found, to explain how the processes realized, to find out the reason for a cases, and to explain the contribution of Transitivity System of Fathia Izzati’s Vlog. This study belongs to descriptive qualitative research. The results of the study showed that there were six processes realized in Fathia Izzati’s vlog entitled “20 Goals for 2020” There were material, occurred 73 data with 37%, mental occurred 48 data with 25%, verbal occurred 16 with 8%, behavioural occurred 2 data with 1 %, relational occurred 50 data with 26%, and existential process occurred 6 data with 3%. Based on the research findings, the most frequent process used were material process. It was also to be the reason why the process realized. It was because material process existed with events happened that affected readers. In addition, the mental process was also affected the readers, although mental process did not the most frequently types of process. the last was the contribution to Systemic Functional Linguistics in learning and teaching activities. It was also to be the references for students in learning especially transitivity system.
