Abstract

This research was conducted to answer the research questions about teaching strategies to manage the class used in Big Brother movie and also as an addition from previous studies about teaching strategies found in another movie that support this research. In this research, the writer used descriptive qualitative. According to research finding, the data of this research were collected by watching the movie and reading the movie scripts. In collecting the data the writer used five steps involved in data analysis and to make a different research from previous studies, the writer used interview method as an addition in order to find out what is the best teaching strategy that can be applied in the class. The results of the interview showed that 60 percent choosing interactive strategies is the best teaching strategy that can be applied in the class as the teacher, which is one of the teaching strategies the writer agrees with and 30 percent choosing self learning strategies is the best teaching strategy that can be applied in the classs as a student. Considering to the results of the research, it is suggested that the teachers should use interactive strategies to manage the class to get students’ attention and It is suggested that the students should be more active in the class and use self learning strategies to gain knowledge effectively.
