Abstract

This research was motivated by the condition of cardiovascular endurance of players at Halim basketball club,
Pemalang district, which was less than optimal. The purpose of this research is to find out whether there is an
effect of consuming 50 grams of palm sugar on increasing cardiovascular endurance in Halim basketball club
players in Pemalang Regency? The three consumptions of palm sugar are more likely to increase
cardiovascular endurance in basketball club players in Halim, Pemalang Regency? The research method used
the experimental method. The research design used was pre-test and post-test design, therefore, data collection
was carried out during pre-test and post-test. The research subjects sampled in the study were 15 players from
the Halim basketball club, Pemalang district, divided into 3 groups, namely the 21 gram group, the 50 gram
group and the 80 gram group as many as 5 people per group. Data was collected by using the MFT test
(BLEEP TEST). The increase in the results of the 21 gram VO2max palm sugar test was 57.44. VO2max 50
grams is 63.42 and 80 grams VO2max is 60.2. So that the best and most effective VO2max is 50 grams of
palm sugar to increase cardiovascular endurance. The conclusion in this study is that the best composition of
palm sugar to increase cardiovascular endurance of basketball club athletes at Halim Pemalang is 50 grams of
palm sugar because it has the highest average V02Max 67.6 and has a significant difference between the
consumption of palm sugar 21 grams and 80 grams. grams. Providing nutrition during training or competition
can help improve athlete's performance by delaying fatigue, increasing fitness, relieving thirst.
