Abstract

Humans, the environment, and the culture inherent in society cannot be separated, all of which are related in life. This can be packaged in a literary work, because literary works are born from the author's construction by seeing, observing, and even feeling in an environment that can finally be enjoyed by the reader. Readers of literary works even feel how many values are contained and can be used as values of life. One of them is a literary novel written by Oka Rusmini. Almost all of his works talk about social life which is set in Bali, Bali, which is known for its beauty, turns out to have a lot of social and cultural values. Oka Rusmini tells clearly what is described through her characters. The story can be analyzed through sociological and feminist approaches. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with narrative analysis, by understanding one's perspective on what is conveyed. The data source of this research is a novel with the title Tarian Bumi by Oka Rusmini. The research data is taken from the quotes and dialogues of the characters. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that there are social factors, namely the author's sociology of his work, because Oka Rusmini is of Balinese descent, and socially, there are caste differences in Bali as well as the lives of the characters who violate the rules or values that exist in Bali. In addition, in the study of feminism, there are many efforts of a female figure in fighting for rights and equality.
