The background of this research is that there are many residents of Semunggang village RT 1 RW 4, Sedayu Village, Wonosobo Regency who are overweight because they do little physical activity. This study aims to find out the comparison between tabata and cardio exercise on reducing body fat and body weight. This study uses an experimental method with a two group posttest pretest design. The sample used in the study were residents of Semunggang village RT 1 RW 4, totaling 20 people. The sampling technique used random sampling. In this study, the sample was divided into different groups, namely the tabata group and the aerobic exercise group. Each group was given treatment in 15 meetings. The result of this study is that the pretest and posttest of the tabata group have a sig (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05, so it can be concluded that the tabata training method has an effect on weight loss. While the results of the pretest and posttest weight gain of the aerobic exercise group had a sig (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05, it can also be concluded that the aerobic exercise method had an effect on weight loss. In addition, the results of the pretest and posttest body fat tabata group have a sig (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05, it can be concluded that the tabata training method has an effect on the decrease. While the results of the pretest and posttest body fat from the aerobic exercise group had a sig (2-tailed) of 0.001 <0.05, it can also be concluded that the aerobic exercise method had an effect on reducing body fat.
