The background of this research is based on the results of observations made at SDN Surodadi 1 which obtained an overview of the not yet optimal ability of students in developing kinesthetic intelligence and gross motor skills. This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of simple games on kinesthetic intelligence and gross motor skills of the lower grade students of SDN Surodadi 1 in the academic year 2022/2023.
This type of research is quantitative with the Quasi Experimental Design research method used Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. Sampling is done by Probability Sampling through Cluster Random Sampling. In this study, the research instrument used by researchers in collecting data were observations and tests, observations in the form of a checklist while the test was in the form of TGMD-2 ( Test of Gross Motor Development-second edition ).
Based on the results obtained by the variables X 1 – X 2, the highest pre-test value was 9, meaning 7.29 and the post-test was the highest value, 14, meaning 9.71. Therefore, the percentage increase in kinesthetic intelligence results before and after simple game treatment was 18%. In the results obtained by the variables X 1 – X 2, the largest pre-test value was 54, the mean 43.94 and the post-test the highest value was 60 , the mean 50.84. Therefore, there was a percentage increase in gross motor results after and after being given the application of simple games of 8%. . From the results of the research conducted, it shows that there is an increasing effect between before and after being given treatment through simple games on the kinesthetic intelligence and gross motor skills of lower grade students at SDN Surodadi 1 in the 2022/2023 academic year. Suggestions for further researchers to be able to develop and modify simple game learning to be more effective and varied to improve kinesthetic intelligence and gross motor skills.
