Arranging operational verbs in a written test is one of the skills a prospective teacher must possess. Therefore there is a need for research that aims to determine the profile of the ability of prospective physics students to use the operational domain of cognitive verbs in the preparation of written tests. The research subjects were Physics education students who had taken the subject of Physics Learning Evaluation courses and had good communication (verbally and in writing). By analyzing the use of cognitive operational verbs in multiple choice questions and descriptions it was found that the ability to compile multiple choice cognitive test questions with good criteria (42.22%) was 19 students, while the preparation of the description test questions was 12 students with good criteria and enough (26.67%)
