Analysis Sociocultural Education Found in the Characters Aladdin 2019 film

This final project is carried out to analysis sociocultural education found in the Aladdin 2019 character. The aims of this research are (1) to find out the sociocultural education found in the Aladdin 2019 film based on Vygotsky’s theory. (2) To find out what characters are found in the main character in the Aladdin 2019 film. The research methodology is descriptive qualitative research. The main sources of this research are the Aladdin 2019 film and script Aladdin 2019. The findings in this study indicate that: (1) there are five types of sociocultural education namely, leadership, friendliness, social concern, environmental concern, and responsibility. The most dominant social concern shown in this film is because of Aladdin’s background which is an orphan. (2) Whereas in the Aladdin character, five type were found, namely, helper, brave, responsible, trustworthy, and humble. With the contribution of film to learning, it can provide information about sociocultural education and character in cognitive development in children. Children’s cognitive development is an important thing to pay attention to because it is a part that requires very processes in the formation of memory and reasoning. Therefore, the role of the teacher is needed in this case. Teachers are expected to be able to use film media in learning so that students are interested in learning about sociocultural education and character.
