An Analysis of Moral Values in “The Sea Beast” Movie

This research is entitled An Analysis of Moral Values in “The Sea Beast” Movie. There are two statements of the problem. The first statement of the problem is about the analysis of types of moral values and the second is about finding out the most dominant of moral values in “The Sea Beast” movie. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. The researcher used the theory of Linda and Eyre (1993) to analyze the types of moral values in “The Sea Beast” movie.
According to Linda and Eyre (1993), there are two kinds of moral values, namely the value of being and the value of giving. Both of them are divided into twelve types of moral values.
However, the researcher found eleven types of moral values in this movie. They are honesty, courage, peace of ability, self-confidence and potential, self-discipline and moderation, loyalty and dependability, respect, love and affection, unselfishness and sensitivity, kindness and friendliness, justice and mercy. The most dominant of moral values in this movie is courage.
