Profile of Science Literacy Ability of Class XI Students of SMA Dr. Soetomo On Global Warming Material

This study aims to describe the profile of the scientific literacy ability of class XI students at SMA Dr. Soetomo on global warming material. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative. Aspects of scientific literacy used in this study are aspects of context, aspects of knowledge, and aspects of competence. The results of the test instrument validation were obtained at 94.9% with a very valid category. Students' scientific literacy ability in the context aspect obtained an average score of 51.67% with a very poor category, in the knowledge aspect the average value obtained was 30% with a very poor category, in the competence aspect the average score was 62 ,5% with sufficient category. Overall, students' scientific literacy skills are still low. This is because as many as 60% of students are in the category less in scientific literacy skills. The low scientific literacy ability of students can be caused by a lack of scientific literacy-based practice questions, not all KD can be done with scientific literacy, time constraints, and students' understanding of concepts is still low. So, it can be concluded that the scientific literacy ability profile of students at SMA Dr. Soetomo is still low. This shows the need for efforts to improve students' scientific literacy skills in learning physics.
