Abstract

Halal food authentification is important issue to moslem people in the world. To support halal authenticity, method that more effective and efficient need to develop for halal authentification process. One of methods can be used is florescence imaging. The purpose of this study is to make second generation fluorescence imaging system based on high power UV-LED to support analytical of lard and tallow and develop first  generation fluorescence imaging system was build at Physics Laboratory UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. This system used high power UV-LED as an excitation source that emit 365 nm UV light, webcam M-Tech WB100 as image acquisition, and software made by NI VISION LabVIEW as an analytical image software. From this experiment, the fluorescences appear both on lard and tallow with different characteristic image, color spectrum, and mean of color histogram. Visually, fluorescence image of lard appears as green color, and fluorescence image of tallow appears as blue color. From color spectrum, the lard had spectrum peak at-39 of bins and the tallow had spectrum peak at-42 of bins. Mean of color histogram showed that the lard had fluorescence intensity higher than the tallow at each color component. This result showed that fluorescence imaging system has been made can support analytical of lard and tallow.
