Abstract

The implementation of physics learning at MAN 2 Karanganyar lacks variety and interaction between teachers and students. This results in suboptimal student engagement in the learning process, which affects the development of students' critical thinking skills. This study aims to examine student responses and the improvement of critical thinking skills using an IoT based spring constant practical tool combined with a problem based learning model. The research method used is a quasi-experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design. Class
XI IPA 3 serves as the control group, while XI IPA 2 serves as the experimental group. Data collection was carried out through interviews, essay tests, and questionnaires. Data analysis was
performed using independent sample t-tests and N-Gain tests. The results of the study show a significant difference in critical thinking skills between the group using the IoT-based spring
constant practical tool with the problem-based learning model and the control group, as indicated by the independent sample t-test result with a significance of 0.00 < 0.05. Additionally, the NGain value for the experimental class (0.63) shows a significant improvement compared to the control class (0.13). Therefore, it can be concluded that the application of the IoT-based spring
constant practical tool with the problem-based learning model can improve the critical thinking skills of students at MAN 2 Karanganyar
