ABSTRACT
Adolescents often experience pressure from social environments, such as peers and social media, which can affect their perceptions of self-esteem. Social pressure that is often experienced by adolescents is the demand to have a proportional body. This pressure creates unrealistic standards. Peer pressure is commonly exerted through body shaming. In Indonesia, the problem of body shaming occurs in the educational environment, reaching a percentage of 62.2%. The impact of body shaming problems results in adolescents' low self- esteem. This article aims to describe how adolescents experience body shaming and its impact on the formation of self-esteem and identify factors that affect adolescent resilience. The research method used in this research is a literature study. The sources taken from various literatures include articles, journals and books that are relevant to the issues of body shaming, resilience and self-esteem in the VUCA Era. The results show that body shaming affects the formation of a person's self-esteem to be negative, such as not confident and not accepting their condition. Self-esteem is one of the internal factors that influence adolescent resilience. Thus, the higher the self-esteem, the better the resilience of adolescents
