Abstract

This study aims to enhance the learning interest of students in class XI-09 at SMAN 2 Semarang toward scientific writing materials through the use of collaborative digital media tools such as Google Docs and Padlet. Scientific writing is a critical component of academic literacy that students must master. However, in practice, it is often perceived as difficult and monotonous due to conventional teaching methods. This research was conducted using a Classroom Action Research approach, consisting of three stages: pre-cycle, cycle 1, and cycle 2. In the pre-cycle stage, conventional teaching methods were used, resulting in only 25% of students showing interest in the subject. In cycle 1, the use of Conventional LKPD and Microsoft Word helped increase student involvement, with 57.1% expressing satisfaction. Nevertheless, this method lacked true interactivity and collaboration. In cycle 2, students used Google Docs for collaborative writing and Padlet as a medium for feedback and reflection among peers. The results were significant, with 97.1% of students reporting increased satisfaction and interest in the learning process. This study concludes that collaborative digital media are highly effective in increasing student engagement in scientific writing, as they offer opportunities for exploration, interaction, and active participation in the learning process.
