Abstract

This research is an action research, the main problem in this research is how to improve students' learning motivation in mathematics in class II A SD Pandeanlamper 03 by using the Problem Based Learning model assisted by the Pocket Place Value media. This study aims to determine the improvement of students' learning motivation in mathematics in class II A SD Pandeanlamper 03 using the Problem Based Learning model assisted by the Pocket Place Value media. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which covers pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle II as found in classroom issues. Each cycle includes four stages: planning (plan), operation, observation, and reflection. Data collection methods used are questionnaires, observations, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is qualitative descriptive analysis and quantitative percentage analysis, while the research instruments used are observation sheets and questionnaires. The results of the analysis show an improvement in students' learning motivation, where in the pre-cycle it was 38% with a low category, in cycle I it increased to 64% with a high category, and then in cycle II it experienced a significant increase to 82% with a very high category. It can be concluded that there is an Increase in Learning Motivation Through Problem Based Learning Model Assisted by Pocket Place Value Media in Mathematics Class 2A at SDN Pandeanlamper 03 Semarang.
